Canada: The New Sodom
I wrote a post about Proposition 8 – concerning same-sex marriage, and received some passionate comments.
In fact, that post on prop 8 received more comments than any other post written here thus far. Many of the commenters are quoting the Bible. I’d like to invite you b-thumpers to also comment on some of my other posts such as: this one about a guy that does strange things with chicken eggs (he is NOT Canadian btw).
Anyhow… back to Canada burning:
I started reading what other people have to say about Proposition 8, and same-sex marriage laws. I saw a lot of comments from the religious side referencing “Sodom and Gomorrah” — with doomsday warnings.
Some folks interpret Genesis 19:5 as proof that homosexual behavior led to the destruction of the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. But, the traditional Jewish interpretation is that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their lack of hospitality (good will towards guests).
Either way, this got me thinking: “Hey, I live in Canada… not only is homosexuality legal here, so is gay marriage.”
Do these folks who fear a repeat of Sodom and Gomorrah really think Canada is going to receive the wrath of god?

-yes, they probably do. sad but true!
interesting though that the Bible and Jesus himself had much more to say about divorce than “gayness”. funny though, i don’t see people marching against divorce and I also don’t see priests/pastors refusing to marry people who are on their 2nd, 3rd or 4th marriage. My gf said the church her mom went to the preacher talked about how big of a sin homosexuality is but also talked about how horrible is first marriage was. LOL. People can be so hypocritical and irrational to extent they can’t smell their own stinking shit.
